Autumn Sparkle - CLIO Pro Eye Shadow Palette Review

Autumn is a beautiful season for me as the cooler sister of Spring. Whereas I imagine Spring as the bright and happy child that frolics in pink frill dresses, I see Autumn as the shy, yet strong child in a simple yet tasteful A-line dress enjoying sticking stickers in her storybook to decorate it. Autumn, however, has always admired Spring's energy, her giggles her smiles. That spark that Spring had as the first child. So Autumn wanted to add a little sparkle to herself but keep it muted, subtle and classy.
If you are like Autumn, you're like me and I personally have tried a lot of different eye shadow palettes to achieve this look. As a neutral skin tone, it's actually harder I think because if you're cool tone or warm tone you know what looks nice, but for me it's choices - and choices are not always the best when it comes to a makeup beginner like myself.
I've always been a fan of CLIO's cushions, so when I saw they had the CLIO Pro Eye Shadow Palette I was less hesitant to try it out because it was a brand that I've come to admire and love.
I started out with the CLIO Pro eye palette #02 Brown Choux because brown shades are typically the safest... or so I hear. And it had a mixture of matte, shimmer, glitter... all subtle and chic that I just live for.
Colors for CLIO Pro eye palette #02 Brown Choux
01 Flat White [matte] : Base color, Nude skin tone color
02 Ristretto [matte] : Medium shading color, Basic brown shading color
03 Lay Back [glitter] : Glitter point, White gold glitter
04 Best Shot [crystal glitter] : Point color, Gold glitter packed with white crystal pearls
05 Slow Motion [pearl] : Shimmer pearl color, Golden pink, two-toned shimmer color
06 Light Roasting [pearl] : Shimmer pearl color, Brown with a subtle hint of silver pearls
07 Fromage [matte] : Medium shading color, Brown with a lingering pink tone
08 Focaccia [pearl] : Shimmer pearl color, Subtle pink-brown sprinkled with white pearls
09 Pretend [glitter] : Glitter point, Brown glitter with opal pearls
10 Back to you [matte] : Point shading color, Deep brown that can be used as eyeliner
So basically I went back and bought some of the other palettes,
I feel like the packaging for the original palette releases (#01~#03) are more sturdy than the later released, but that may just be me with the first impressions. It's on a medium size - so not too big, not too small, easy to carry around.
The shadows are, as I've mentioned above, very subtle, sheer and adds that sparkle without being bold. This means that I can also apply with some mistakes and it's not going to really matter. Perfect for those mornings where you just want to stick on some sparkle and head out the door. As subtle as the look is, it's pretty easy to reapply quickly at the office too.
If you want to, you can really use this palette anytime throughout the year because it is so smooth and subtle, but especially in Autumn, if you're looking for the brightness of spring but that mellow of Autumn, grab this subtle yet statement palette and dazzle away.
